Mummy’s been writing a book

Hello, Pippin here.

Mummy’s spent quite a lot of time at her computer in our room this week, writing a book. She has another little computer, which she uses mostly in the other rooms and out of doors. That takes most of the pictures of us. The computer she’s been using this week is the big one on her desk. She sits with her back to us and stares at the screen. Sometimes she makes tapping noises. Other times she makes sort of swaying motion with her left hand. Ludo says she’s playing with a mouse, but I don’t think he’s right. He must be making that up. Mummy plays with us, not mice. Or rats. Not even the birds, which she feeds.

We went out in the garden lots until the weekend. It finally rained. Mummy was very happy it rained because the ground was very dry. It hasn’t filled up her water barrel yet, though. It’s going to rain off and on for a few weeks now, and Mummy hopes it’s dry enough for her to do her last bird surveys. I think she should have done them while it was dry, but it wasn’t the right time, apparently. It was the right time to do her book sale, though.

I never know what the time is. It used to be dark at night and light in the day, but morning and evening seem to come at different times. Sometimes Mummy gets up in the morning then goes back to bed because it’s too early. We know it’s too early because she doesn’t put the music on. And now she goes to bed when it gets dark, whereas before she would be up and about for ages once it got dark. Ludo said something about Fred explaining it all.

I expect that means Fred wrote about it on here some time. I’ll have a look. Maybe when Mummy finishes whatever book she’s doing at the moment she’ll finally write a book about us.

I’ll tell you if I find out. Meanwhile, have a nice week.

Pippin. xx

  1. Lovely to hear from you, Pippin. Enjoy all the new green grass! I am frequently awakened by my cat Samantha jumping on me very early in the morning – 6 AM – telling me she wants to be fed. Garfield is much more polite. So I feed them both and go back to bed!
