neville's haircut Mar 18

It’s smelling like spring

Way-aye, Roscoe here.

It’s been another quiet week.  I’ve been getting a little bit bored with it, to tell the truth.  Mam’s been out quite a bit, or busy with people calling her on that funny box she uses to talk to them. I think it’s people she’s talking to, any rate.

We’ve not any more grass from the garden lately, something to do with the white snow that covered it. We did get a wee bit on Saturday, though.  Mam had been out all day, and the day before, and before that too, so maybe she was making it up to us, like. She’d been in at night, though.  Not like the other week. She gave Neville a haircut the other day though.

Any rate, she was in all day yesterday.  She spent some time outside doing noisy things.  We could hear he cos she left the door open.  We could hear the birds and smell the air.  It smelled good.

I hear Percy let on that Neville and I had a bit of an argument the other day.  We didn’t really.  I just told Nev what he ought to do like, and he disagreed.  So we talked about it for a while. I’ve no idea how he got that little spot behind his ear.  It’s nothing to do with me, honest.

Mam said that if the grass was dry enough we could go out on it when it got warm so she could sit out without a coat on. So she’s going out without a coat on, but she’s not sitting.  Okay. I see. I think.  Get sitting, will you?

The Disappearing Lump – part 2

Percy here.  I know we said this before, but my lump has more or less disappeared again.  In fact it’s been tiny for the last couple of weeks.  Mummy has felt my chin and jaw very carefully, and says if she didn’t know it was there, she certainly wouldn’t find it.

I said “does that mean I don’t have to have my meds any more?”  Even though I don’t have as much as after I went to Dr Simon, I’m still having one dose of metacam and my nutrimed daily.

Mummy said, “no, you’re still having your meds.  Remember what happened last time it went down and I stopped giving you them?”

“Oh, yes,” I said.  What happened then was after a few weeks my lump grew so big Mummy thought it was The End.  I don’t want that to happen.  I mean, it’s nearly time for fresh grass and running in the sunshine.  So I’m still having a small dose of my meds, and Mummy said she’ll ask Dr Sally if maybe I drop to metacam every other day.

It isn’t sunshine and grass weather yet.  There was a little bit of grass  we had from the garden about a month ago, but we’ve had none since before Mummy went out for the week that Auntie Vikki visited.  Roscoe showed you some of the pics from that last week, but here are some more.  Look how sleek my left cheek is!   This weekend we had snow again, but not as bad as before.  Mummy says she hopes we’ll be into spring soon, and it’s Easter next weekend, so things will start Looking Up.

Me and Auntie Vikki Looking Up

I do a lot of Looking Up but I generally only see Mummy coming towards me, or the light shining down, or the top of my cage.  Maybe everything Looks Up when the sun shines, though, and that’s what Mummy means.

Percy in the daffodils; 3 March 2016

Apparently these daffodils are just coming into bloom, so maybe that’s the signal for us to go outside soon. This pic was from two years ago, I think. Oh yes, the date is on it.

Mummy’s URI has nearly cleared up.  She still coughs sometimes, but the worst of the snorting seems over.  I think she needs to go out in the garden more, but it’s not warm enough for her, either.  The test is whether she can sit outside without a coat on.  I’ll keep you informed.

PS Thank you for the photos, Auntie Vikki ❤

Did you have a nice Easter?

We did!

Version 2 (7)

Mummy put us out in the garden for a couple of hours on Friday, me with Midge and Percy with Oscar.  She’s been giving us some grass from the garden for ages, so we shouldn’t get upset tummies from the change of diet.  And we were only outside for a couple of hours, anyway.  But now I’m going to hand you over to Percy, your new correspondent.

Version 2 (8)

Hello.  I’m Percy.  Thank you for voting for me.  Kevin says I just have to tell you what we’ve been doing.

We went outside on the grass on Friday.  It was a little scary.  I hadn’t been on the grass before.  Mummy put me down in a run with Oscar.  We grumbled at each other a bit.  I wanted to eat grass and hide from the huge sky above us.  Oscar wanted to rumble at everybody.  He tried to pull the fence down too.  I got on with eating.  I don’t know what Oscar did.  I think he ended up eating too.  I said hello to Kevin.  I had only seen Kevin in passing before.  He’s nice.  I would say that even if he wasn’t reading this.  He’s showing me where to put my feet to make it work.  It’s very complicated.  Here’s Kevin.

Kevin here.  That was very good, Percy, you’ll soon get the hang of it.

Mummy gave me a special message for Roland.  Mummy says she’s taken a photo of the message in your card from last year, as she planted the card in the wildflower garden.  Apparently the card had seeds embedded in it.  Anyway, she’s kept your request to be a ninjineer and she’s thinking about it.  And she’s marked where she’s planted the card so she can take photos of it grows.

Look, I don’t know what it means either.  I’m just passing on the message.

I hope we can go out in the garden again this week.
