Very quiet around here

Hullo, Reggie here. It’s been very quiet around here since Pippin went over the Rainbow Bridge. Not that he was noisy, in fact he didn’t vocalise much at all. Like me, well I do a lot of chatting to Mummy when she’s stroking me. Maybe Pippin did the same.

Mummy cleaned out Pippin’s run when she changed our beds on Saturday, and that’s what made it extra quiet. His cage is completely empty apart from his fiddlesticks. Everything else is in The Wash. That’s a machine that makes a few whizzing noises then beeples at us when it’s ready for Mummy to open it. So when Pippin’s run had fleece and cage wear in it, it was fine; now it’s empty it feels very quiet.

Mummy fixed up an interesting hidey in the corner for me. It’s got a triangular drape above, and a round bed below. I enjoyed sitting in it for a while, but it would be better if there was somebody next door. Mummy said she wants to go to look at new boys this coming week, although Auntie Anna asked if she should get well again first. Mummy says she is well, the tablets keep her well, but she does need to get fit for walking again. She probably needs to explain better to Auntie Anna.

I wonder if the new boys will be somebody we knew at the rescue? Although we’ve been here over a year, so maybe we won’t have met them. Mummy says she wants short-haired boys, well bonded, and preferably younger than us. There should be lots of those to choose from, Mummy. She says that’s the problem, making the choice from so many.

Well she picked us from a bunch of others, so she must be good at choosing.

But this week will probably stay quiet. Next week, who knows what might happen?!

Love

Reggie xx
