Blogging from A to Z

We’re back to our A to Z weekly blogging challenge today.  I’m Roscoe, the handsome one of the party. The one with the dashing eye patch!

G is for Garden parties, Gotcha days, Gardening and something Mam does pretty often, which is Golf.

We had hoped to have a Garden party last week to celebrate the blog’s anniversary.  Mam is very happy you came and visited her special anniversary post, but is a mite disappointed that people haven’t entered her Giveaway. I mean, it’s like a raffle, and friends enter raffles, don’t they?  So step up and enter the Giveaway.  It’s at the bottom of Tuesday’s post.

Mam says she might add everyone who’s left a comment on the blog anyway.

We generally have Garden parties for birthdays, and  Gotcha Days, which are the dates on which some of us arrived here, rather than the date we were born.  Nev and I don’t know when we were born, and neither does Mam, so we have our Gotcha Day on 18th August.  Bertie and Biggles celebrate their birthday in February, and we have an indoor party for that.  Garden parties are a tradition here, though.  Mam says we might have one for Princelings Day, 13th June.

Gardening is something Mam does to keep the garden tidy, while we do the gras mowing for her.  This weekend she was weeding the new veggies.  She says the salad leaves are nearly ready to pick, and the carrots and kohl rabi are growing nicely.  She took out weeds like chickweed and some mini dandelions and mini fennel, which she gave us to try. We liked them. She gave us some extra Grass she found too.  Yum.

Golf is what Mam does when she goes out all day.  She usually gets us cuddled, cleaned and fed then says ‘Bye Boys, see you after 3,’ or after 5, or before dark, and she goes out of the door.  She comes back later, and usually she brings food or hay.  So Golf is obviously related to shopping.

So that’s it for G, apart from George, of course, who was Gorgeous, and so am I.  He-he 🙂

See you next time

love

Biggles and Bertie are two

Bertie here again!

Hello everybody.  I asked Roscoe very nicely if I could post again today to tell you about my birthday.  He said something like “I suppose you’d better because you’ll be insuferabel till you’ve told everyone”.  I don’t know what insuferabel means but I expect it’s a compliment.

We had a lovely time.  Mummy did portraits of us in the morning… look:

and then we had a nice run in the kitchen.  Later we came downstairs again, and Mummy had set up a lovely party room for us.  I enjoyed running around in that, and everyone came!  I spoke very nicely to Roscoe, and he spoke nicely to me most of the time, but Mummy decided he’d better go home before the party ended.  Then Biggles came down.  We said hello, and then I said something Biggles didnt agree with, and Mummy asked me if I’d enjoyed myself (which I had), and she took me home.  From the photos it looks like Neville helped Biggles enjoy his own birthday cake, as we’d already demolished mine.

And when the party was finally over, Mummy got me and Biggles to sit together on the chair in our room so we could have a photo together like I did with Uncle Percy.

We both sat very nicely and didn’t fight at all.  Biggles didn’t want his cucumber, so I helped him out.  Then he changed his mind.  There’s no pleasing some people!

But Mummy said we were good boys, and she hoped we enjoyed our birthday.  Well, I did, anyway!

Thank you for sending me happy birthday wishes, it was very kind of you.

And we hope Auntie Tori is feeling okay after her vet visit.  I think she had to stay in, so we hope she’s well enough to come home soon.

I’ll let Roscoe blog next week.

Love

A very exciting week

Roscoe here.  Glad to see you again.  I gather a few had a wee problem with the accent, like.  Sorry bout that, but Mam says she likes it.

This week was very exciting.  We had a birthday party for young Biggles and his brother Bertie.  You know I’m not right friendly with Bertie.  And Percy filled me in on events between Biggles and Bertie.  It sounds like Bertie’s as bad with his brother as he is with me.

Biggles first birthday cake

Anyhow, Biggles invited Neville and me to his party, which was on the floor in the living room.  That was different!  We don’t usually run around there.  There was a nice warm blanket with something crinkly underneath.  Mam says it’s a plastic tablecloth to protect her floor carpet. Oh, I get you 😉

I had fun exploring, and nosing around the things there, and I found some shiny things up at the side, apparently they spelled out summat, but I don’t read long words too well, especially when the letters are twice the size of meself.  Neville discovered the birthday cake and spent nearly all his time there.  Well, it was nice, and I did have some. Just not that much. Biggles was a bit shy of it too.  He had a good rumble at me instead.

I gather the others had a second party with a separate birthday cake which Midge spent most of his time eating.  Midge and Neville – I wonder what they’d do if they lived together?!

Neville’s teeth are growing along okay.  Mam took more photos this weekend to show you how they go, week on week.  Neville hasn’t lost any weight, mind.

And my lump has finally gone away (touch wood, Mam says), and I’ve finished one of the antibiotics and Mam says I can finish the other on Thursday.  Of course it’s the horrid tasting one that lasts longer.  I cannot wait for Thursday.

Have a nice week!

Oscar and Midge are two years old

Oscar and Midge had a birthday on Saturday.  It was very exciting, because a new lady came, I hadn’t met her before.  Everyone else had, and she knew everyone who’s ever been here.  Auntie Vikki.  She tickled my nose and my head but I felt that was enough on first meeting and moved away before she tried the full body cuddle.  Maybe next time.

Then she and Mummy went and sat outside with Oscar and Midge.  They got lots of cuddles, and they don’t often go out at the same time, so they must have been on best behaviour.  Vikki gave them a card and some presents.  We had some of the present for breakfast next day.  It was okay.  A breakfast cookie.  Mummy says there’s two more, each, with different flavours.  That’s good, I wasn’t excited by the flavour of the one we had yesterday.

We also had birthday cake in the garden in the afternoon.  That was great!!!  I loved birthday cake.  Mummy took photos of us, then took the candles off the cake and we just enjoyed it while we had a run on the grass.  I enjoyed the cake very, very much.  Kevin got a bit stroppy with me at one point.  I don’t know what he was fussed about, just because I’d taken over his tent and ate more of the cake than anyone else.

We all got presents for Oscar and Midge’s birthday – new cagewear.  Oscar inherited George’s hammock, which I never worked out how to use; I got a new bed, which I’ve tried out and it’s very comfortable; Kevin got a new snugglesack which he says is ace, and Midge got a new tunnel which he likes so much he doesn’t want to leave.   He also got a rosette for the Piggy of the Month photo, but I’ll talk about that next week.

It was a very busy weekend, and I need a rest, but I have to wish our American friends a Happy Independence Day.  I hope you enjoy it.

Terrific birthday party!

We had a terrific birthday party on Friday!  Dougall and I were FOUR YEARS OLD and Mummy made us a lovely cake with candles on it… FOUR candles.  I found they got in the way of the cake decoration so I knocked them off and Mummy took them away to make sure we didn’t eat them.

Mummy wants to show how much we’ve grown:

I think they’re pretty cool.  You can see we sometimes party in our run, and sometimes in the living room.  That’s special in the living room.  This year Mummy introduced us to Mr Percy, but she said I was too rough with him.  I always get over-enthusiastic at parties. Kevin puts up with it better, but then Mummy gave me a bird’s-eye view of him and Dougall having a game. Continue reading “Terrific birthday party!”
