Introducing Reggie

Hullo, I’m Reggie.

And Hi! I’m Pippin. We’ve decided that Reggie, being willing to try, is going to share the blogging with me for a while, so today I’m guiding him through. So, I usually tell them any news, and what we’ve been doing, and anything else interesting. Off you go.

Okay. I’m Reggie, and I’m a tortoiseshell coated Peruvian type of guinea pig. So I have white, cream, caramel, ginger and brown hair, and it’s long and beautiful, if hard to keep clean. But I’m very attractive, Mummy says.

I live with my brother Ronnie, who thinks he’s in charge. He makes loud whistles when he wants me to move. Mummy sometimes thinks it’s an alarm call and she comes to see what’s happening. And Ronnie looks at her as if to say ‘who, me?’, all innocent-like, and Mummy goes back to what she was doing.

The big event this week was the arrival of our birthday boxes! They are yummy edible boxes with tasty things inside. Ronnie has already wrecked ours, but Mummy said she expected that, and she has a second one for us. Pippin got one too. He’s about halfway through his goodies inside, but he hasn’t started on the box yet.

We don’t actually know when our birthday is, although Pippin knows his. Mummy is guessing September, because we first went to the Rescue then. We were a long time in the Rescue until Mummy brought us home in July last year. I’ll tell you more about that next week.

We did get out on the grass this week a couple of times. It’s a lot cooler, which Pippin notices a lot because his hair has gone all patchy. We don’t notice the heat or cold, really. Our hair keeps us the same all the time. But the new grass was really nice. It would be better if Mummy moved our cages though, as we’ve been on this patch a while now.

Other than that, Pippin sleeps a lot, although he still jumps up for his treats, as does Ronnie. I don’t jump up for treats. I wait for Mummy to offer them to me, then I take them politely.

I hope you enjoyed my first blog post. (Was it all right, Pippin?)

(it is wonderful!)

bye bye then, see you next week

Reggie (the quiet one)

PS we are three years old this month. Pippin is four and two-thirds, he says.
