Way-aye, Roscoe here, on the 1st of April, which is the start of the A to Z Blogging Challenge.
I’d like to welcome everybody who visits and hasn’t met us before. Just to get one thing straight: we’re guinea pigs. I’m Roscoe, the mainly white one. Then we have Bertie, the smooth haired silver one with the white face, Biggles, his brother (although they don’t get on) who is silver-grey and very furry, and then my mate Neville, who’s brown and white and very hairy so most of the time you get to see hair, not Nev.
We’re blogging from A to Z once a week, because Mam won’t let us on the computer more often, since she needs it. So we’ll blog through the alphabet on Mondays, right through to September.
And we have an exciting thing to include…
A for Anniversary!
It’s this blog’s tenth anniversary in May, just like it’s the A to Z’s tenth anniversary! Isn’t that funny? We’re having a real party to celebrate in May, so come back and see us.
We’d also like to mention A for Augustus
He’s a guinea pig we don’t know very well, but he’s Auntie Dawn’s piggy and he lives in New York City. I don’t know where that is. I used to live in Newcastle, and now I live in Norfolk, and I had to go through York to get here, but that was a long time ago. It’s not the same place, Mam says.
Here’s a picture of Augustus, he’s a colour called lemon agouti. Agouti means he’s got a sort of speckled effect.
Bertie’s also agouti, but he’s silver agouti. You’ll meet him next week. We take it in turns to blog.
We’ll explain what George’s Guinea Pig World is all about when we get to G. All you need to know is we’re guinea pigs and the blog was started by George in May 2009. Come back every Monday to help us blog through the alphabet.
Till next time
Roscoe

Great start to your A-Z. Our blogging anniversary is in May too, but the Mummy human says it’s a different numbr from ten for us. She says it will be 13 years for her blog this year. I don’t know where New York is, but it sounds far away, especially since it’s even further away than where you guys live, and the human caretakers say that’s a very long way from us – especially for a little guy like me. We live by some place called Hastings. Squeak soon, Joshua

Hi Roscoe and pals … enjoy your A-Z … it’ll be fun to see you around … I’m not participating – but I see Victoria is along the coast from me … cheers Hilary

That’s a good start, Roscoe, well done! And I expect Auntie Dawn will be pleased that you’ve featured Augustus.
Hastings is closer to Hampshire than we are now, so one day maybe we’ll meet Joshua.

Augustus sends his deep gratitude. You’ve picked nice photos of him. You can see how, when he lies down on me, he sort of takes over.
When we got him, he was a little thing. We named him Augustus even though we weren’t sure he would grow into his name. Boy, did he ever!
XOXO

Happy Anniversary. A Guinea Pig blog! That is so aweosme I’ll share this with my 2 teenage daughters. Posting the alphabet once a week is really cool. I’m looking forward to it. I’m doing A to Z in a month like normal abnormal people. http://roldaver.blog/2019/04/01/sherman-brother-a-to-z-a-british-bank/ was my first post. I’t actually about A spoonful of Sugar and not A British Bank, so sorry about the confusion. Can Guinea Pigs eat sugar?

Good for you doing your A-Z on the schedule that works for you! I always modify mine, too, although this year I will end on April 30 with everyone else.
I love guinea pigs, too.
