3 minute downpour

Hi! Pippin here!

We had three minutes of torrential rain yesterday morning. Then it stopped and the sun came out. And Mummy went out to her book sale, after saying the summerhouse was wet inside, but she’d just leave it to dry out.

The big question is: was that enough rain to make the grass grow?

I don’t think so.

We went out on the grass every evening, but Mummy started putting piles of Readigrass down so we had something to browse through. It was fun, though, and tasty. Ronnie was extra fond of it. He’s always eating, and we don’t know where he puts it because he never puts on weight. He does do more poos than Reggie and me, though. Added together.

The hedgehog comes most nights. There are lots of butterflies around, and also something Mummy calls a Hummingbird Hawkmoth. It makes a little buzzing noise if it comes close, but it doesn’t sting or anything.

And the main event was meeting Mummy’s friends from Germany. I sat with Alexandre, Reggie sat with Wilma, and Ronnie sat with Mummy. They were very nice, but we couldn’t go out until Mummy got back from taking them to the train station.

I’ve never been to a train station. Mummy says only Colman, Kevin, Roscoe and Neville have been to a station, and only Roscoe and Neville have been on a train. I’ve been on a ferry though, and that had a train station next to it. Does that count?

See you next week, when it will be August!

love
