It’s Colman’s day today

Hi, Bertie here.  I’ve been told it’s Colman’s day today.

I didn’t know Colman, so I asked Percy about him.

He said he didn’t know Colman.  He died on 25th September 2015, which was a couple of months before Percy arrived.  He said Kevin used to talk about him, because he was Kevin’s friend.

I didn’t know Kevin very well, so that didn’t help.  Percy said Kevin was much younger than Colman, which is why he looks so much bigger in this photo. It was taken when Colman was very old.  Colman was over seven years old when he died.

Wow!  That’s ancient.

Apparently Midge and Oscar knew him.  I asked Midge and he said he couldn’t remember, he was very young then.  Percy said “Pish.  I bet he remembers the birthday cake with seven candles.”

Midge said “Oh, yes, I remember that.  He was the brown pig, lemon agouti it’s called.”

I’m silver agouti.  It’s a very handsome colour.  I expect Colman was very handsome in his prime.  He looks like a nice chap.

It’s sad nobody really remembers him.  Except Mummy.  I bet Mummy remembers him.

Yesterday was Dylan and Dougall’s birthday

Well, it would have been if they’d made it this far.  I think Mummy is only just getting over the shock of Dylan dying, eight weeks after Dougall did.  I guess he just couldn’t live without him, even though you’d have thought that Dylan was so outgoing and into everything (and everyone) that he’d be okay.

Anyway, here to cheer Mummy up are some happy memories.

Kevin interviews Auntie Doris

It’s me, Kevin, again.  Today I’m very honoured to be interviewing Auntie Doris.  She lives in a county called Kent which is where my Mummy’s Mummy came from.  It’s complicated.

Anyway, I asked Auntie Doris first off  “Who are your guinea pigs and what are their favourite things?” and she gave me a huge long list:

  • Neptune  – Being red
  • Roger (Flapjack) – Chilling
  • Brendan – Carrots
  • Summerboy – Auntie Debbie (Pig sitter)

  • Wally – Playing hide and seek – the hiding part
  • HB – Playing hide and seek – the seeking part
  • George – Corn and Fennell (not necessarily in that order!), boating.
  • Charlie – Sleeping next to my Daddy (George), boating.
  • Cappachino – Popcorning, hiding
  • Lucas-Buckmore – Standing on Cappa’s head
  • Dorkiss – being with my Mum and ¾ sister
  • Harrier – chilling (she is old)

I miss Hugo

I wondered whether you knew that.  I miss Hugo because I lived with him a long time since I was very young and then he died on this day last year.  He had new-monia.  He had been at the vet for a few days.  His breathing was all bad and Mummy had been up all night with him one night then took him into the vet the next day and I never saw him again till his body came back.  Then I said goodbye to him in my own way.  Mummy understood I needed to do that.  Now he’s off beyond Saturn enjoying himself and having a good time like he always did when we were young.
