Our Calendar Boars

Someone asked why our little slideshow on the right is called ‘Calendar Boars’.

Every year Mummy gets something called a calendar made.  It hangs on the wall by her computer things, so Midge and I can see it.  Apparently last summer, before the Great Flood, there was another copy hanging on the wall downstairs so Percy & Oscar could see it, but it was only because there was a mistake with it, so she ended up with two.

So the calendar has two halves.  The top is pictures, mostly of us, but sometimes of other things like trees,  the moon,  flowers, or birds.  All things she’s photographed, usually in the current year.  Then the bottom part, this is the clever bit, it has a grid with the days of the month laid out so she can tell what day and date it is.  And each month the page changes and we have new pictures and a new month layout.

So each month when the page changes, Mummy updates our ‘Calendar Boars’ slideshow to show the pictures that are on her calendar, well the pictures of us, anyway.  Isn’t that nice?  So now you know.

I wonder who will be in the new calendar for 2017?

Mummy gave me a sneak peek, and I can tell you this one of Oscar is on the cover, but we’ll never see that, because it’ll have its page next to the wall all year.  The other one that’s on the cover is Hugo, pretending to be one of the three kings.  That’s at the top of this post.

Christmas is coming!

Have you seen our new pictures on the sidebar?  Mummy’s been copying her calendar pictures all year and this month we’re more or less all on it.  More or less, because last year Midge and Oscar didn’t get their Christmas photos done for some reason.  I don’t think Mummy did a photoshoot.  But she’s going to do one today, she said when I asked her.  So Midge, Oscar, and Percy will all get to do silly things with santa hats and whatever else Mummy sets up for this year.  I’m excited!

I wonder what we’ll get for Christmas this year?  I’d like something edible, I think.  I think we’d better work out what to give Mummy, too.  Maybe we can make her a special Christmas tree out of chewed newspaper?  It’s an idea, anyway.

What are you giving your best friends for Christmas?

We did it!

We’ve finished the A to Z Challenge.

Mummy says we have to keep up our blogging now, maybe not every day, but decide when we’re going to do it and stick to it.  Maybe once a week.

Maybe we’ll do one a week.  Starting on Monday.

Today I’ll just tell you it’s May 1st and Mummy has changed the calendar.  I think the picture wasn’t that interesting, but it did include Humphrey in the garden so I’ve picked a different Humphrey in the garden picture for you.  There are small pictures of George and Victor in May, too, but that’s because it’s their anniversaries this month.

Colman and Hector are both feeling their age today, which is a shame as it’s Hector’s Official Birthday and he’s five years old today.  So we’re not having a party, but we wish Hector a happy birthday anyway.  Hector had his teeth trimmed by Mummy this morning, so no wonder he’s not feeling good. Colman just wants to sleep today.  He even left some of his red pepper, which he usually eats first.

Kevin and I are just recovering after our April Posting Marathon.  I’m glad I did it, but I don’t want to do it again.  It was nice to meet lots of lovely new people though.  Mummy says I have to post on Monday to talk about all the things I thought of in the A to Z, so I’ll talk about that then.
