and for Mummy and me it was very happy!

I’m Victor, and I’ve been to the vet a lot recently. I had a suspicious lump behind my ear in the summer, which Dr Rebekah identified in general terms and said when it was bigger, or causing problems, she’d take it off and send to the lab for testing.

Well, she did that in December, and I’ve been going back for weekly checks on how my scar is healing. And the good news is that it was a type of melanoma that guinea pigs don’t often get, and it is unlikely to come back or cause any other trouble. I could tell Mummy was very relieved when she understood I really would be okay. I’m really glad too, but meanwhile I have to have extra meds while my scar is healing. At least they taste okay, a bit like fennel. I go back again tomorrow for another check-up.

We had a quiet New Year’s Eve. Only a few fireworks went off, and not too close. Mummy was sitting with us and playing nice music while she worked on the computer. She’s spending more time doing that than she did last year. She’s editing and rewriting her book, and also doing tax returns. We keep her company by demolishing the boxes we got for Christmas and hiding in the hay. Sometimes Ludo wheeks to tell her it’s time for treats. Sometimes I wheek because Ludo’s late. Pippin rarely wheeks. He leaves all the work to us.
