Percy here.  You’ll be pleased to know that Mummy has discovered that giving me medicines makes me grumpy and she’s stopped.  She’s quite surprised, because apparently metacam is supposed to take any pain from my lump away.  But I don’t really have pain from it, it’s just inconvenient and sometimes it helps to lie on it.  So that was the first interesting thing last week.

The second one is that we spent a lot of days out in the garden, then we spent the rest of the week indoors.  I think some of it is down to when Mummy is playing golf.  Sometimes it’s sunny when she plays golf, and then we go out when she comes back.  That’s good because it’s not too hot by then, and we get some nice eating and running around done.

The third interesting thing was on Friday.  She said she wouldn’t have time for normal morning cuddles, because she had to leave early.  That usually means she’ll be back early too, but when she came back (which was quite late, really) it had rained and the grass was wet.  She still went out to get us some grass to eat in our runs, which was nice of her.  The grass was nice too.

But I could smell interesting smells on her – smells of other guinea pigs.  And sure enough, when we went down next morning to have our weigh-in and cuddles and run around the kitchen, there were two strangers in the room.  She introduced me to one of them, a white nosed chap named Roscoe.  The other one, who looked a lot like Dylan, was much shyer and didn’t come over.  His name is Neville.

They’ve moved into Oscar’s old cage, that used to be Hector & Humphrey’s; before that it was Hugo & Victor’s.  Oscar doesn’t run around as much as he did, and he’s in the grey cage that I lived in when I first arrived.  So they’re all chatting away like old friends, when Mummy’s not there.  I think even Neville has stopped hiding completely when Mummy goes to his cage now, though.  Roscoe seems much more relaxed about everything.

Apparently they both weigh in at 1.35 kilos, which is less than me and Midge (who’s gone up to 1.7kg!!).  But they both look big and well.  They were left behind in a house but the landlord looked after them, so they didn’t starve, not like Hector and Humphrey.  I’m glad of that.  I’m looking forward to chatting with them some more and exchanging memories of being in Rescue.

I’m glad I’m not in Rescue now, even though the people were very nice.  I expect the people at Roscoe & Neville’s Rescue were nice too.
