Why is Mummy out so much?

Hello, Bertie here.

Today I will ask a question I’ve been thinking about for ages.

Why does mummy spend so much time away from home?

We only spend a little time each day out of our houses, and then sometimes a nice long time in the garden, like we did on Sunday.

But last week, Mummy spent most of every day out of the house, and sometimes she didn’t come home until it was dark, as well.

Percy says that sometimes she wears golf uniform, and sometimes just ordinary golf clothes.  If she’s in uniform it means she’ll probably be out longer.  He doesn’t know why but thinks it’s a more formal occasion.

Well, if that’s true there are far too many of them.  She should stop, immediately.

I bet she won’t take any notice of me, though.

  1. Think of it like this, Bertie. The weather is pluperfect – at least to judge by the royal wedding this past weekend – so your Mum wants to be out, too. I’m sure she’s heard your complaint, and will do something special for all of you boys!

  2. I have no idea. My human caretakers disappear sometimes too. The Mummy human even sneaks away over night sometimes. We’ve tried telling her to stay home, and think she’s listening, because she stays here for a while. But she obviously never listens, because she does it again after a bit.

    Squeak soon,
    Joshua

Golf makes her happy … I think. Sometimes it’s frustrating, but she plays anyway. Humans are weird sometimes.

Anyway, you know that she loves you. You want for nothing. You’re being a bit dramatic, don’t you think?
