Hi!
I’ve been wondering why we had the background for the website so dark at the moment. Mummy reminded me we are still in mourning for Ludo.

Still? I asked. And she said yes, it seems a very long time ago now.
It’ll end on Friday. Then I can choose a new colour scheme.
I think it means our traditional mourning period is just right. At first I missed Ludo a lot, which is surprising since we didn’t really get on. Well, I suppose I never got to know him that well. He preferred to keep himself to himself, too. Mummy said she missed him a lot at first, and when the new boys came she wondered if she’d rushed it a bit. I don’t think she did. I was getting lonely on my own. They aren’t much company, really, but they are better than an empty cage next to me. Mummy says that they’ll get better as they settle in. Like Ludo, they lived for a long time in a hutch, which has a low roof over their heads. But unlike him, they were used to a lot of noise around them, so this must seem very quiet.

Well, they are getting better. Ronnie even came over to the side of the cage for his evening cucumber on Saturday night. Reggie’s a bit more standoffish. He looks at whatever treat Mummy has, and eventually takes it, then drops it. I wouldn’t be surprised if Ronnie’s sneaking in to eat it before he changes his mind. I suppose if he is, Reggie will just have to speed up a bit.
Mummy was out at the weekend, showing people how she illustrates her books. She wrote a new book in the week, to be called ‘More Cavies of Flexford Common’. Roscoe and Neville were in the first one, and this one has Roscoe, Neville, Biggles, and Locksley in it. She was working on her illustrations for it at the weekend when she was out. I wonder if I’ll be in a book some day. Oh, I forget, I’m a pirate in them, who becomes a flying ace. So I’m already famous.
I’m hoping she’ll let me put one of her new illustrations for it here. I think illustrations are pictures. Why use a long word for pictures? I don’t know.

Till next time
love

I can understand you missing Ludo even if you weren’t close. You were family for a while. I think it’s great you have two new family members you can help raise and get to know.
