What a week!

Hello, Ludo here again. Pippin’s in a bit of a mood, and didn’t want to do it today. Maybe next week.

I’m not surprised he’s in a mood. It’s been a very scary week. Every day was different.

Monday started with us going in our boxes after run-time. We could hear Mummy talking to people in the kitchen. She was worried that was too cold for us in the summerhouse, but she had to go out, so she put us in there for a bit, and then she put us in the cages she’d set up. The blue holiday one for me, and Pippin in his old cage. She shut the door and then she went out for an hour or two.

You know, I used to miss the dark of my hutch that I left when I went into rescue. The summerhouse reminded me of it, and it wasn’t good reminders. I realise what a nice house I live in now, and I can always go into my cosy tunnel if I want dark. Anyway, Mummy came home and opened the door to the garden, and a little while later we went out on the grass. They were still making noises in the kitchen, but it wasn’t too bad. Then it got quiet and it was time to come in and we went back to our usual runs, which we were very happy with.

It was much the same on Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday was much quieter, with only occasional drilling noises. Wednesday was the same but there were lots of people talking. Thursday it was mostly quiet, and Mummy left us in our runs till the man came, and then we went into the garden. Mummy was a bit worried about Pippin on Wednesday, because he didn’t want to come out of his tunnel all day. She asked him whether he was ‘doing a Bertie’ but he came out of his tunnel when we went back to our runs, and he ate and pooed okay, so I guess he’s not. I never met Bertie, so I don’t know what he did. Mummy seemed happy when he ran around a bit, anyway.

Friday we were a bit short of breakfast, and what we got wasn’t very nice. Mummy went to the shop to get some more. And she gave us some yummy dandelion leaves and a Swiss Chard leaf from the garden. We haven’t got a fridge to keep our salad and Mummy’s milk cool, although she’s doing complicated things with bags and boxes, and small pouches she swaps over with ones from the freezer in the summerhouse.

Saturday Mummy went out to her book thing all day. After she left we heard people in the kitchen! It was okay though, because they stayed in the kitchen, made some ordinary sorts of noises, then left again. When Mummy came home much later she brought us some lovely leaves and some special little vegetables called baby corn and baby carrots. We loved them! Although Pippin was a bit suspicious of the corn at first. We didn’t have grass time as she said it was too late. That was a shame because we had rain on Sunday, yesterday, and didn’t go out. But there was nobody in the kitchen and we had more yummy veg. And no trips to the summerhouse, although I’ve got used to it now, and I know it’s to avoid the noise, and we’ll be back inside later.

And that is the story of our week. Apparently this is going to go on for weeks. I think we’ll cope with that.

See you next time, when it will be Easter Monday!

love

Ludo
