What we got for Christmas

Hello, Locksley here. Happy new year to you.

I don’t think Ludo mentioned that we got Christmas presents. Although he did do a very interesting post last week. I don’t think I would have thought about asking each of us what we’d like in 2024. Mummy is giving us dried grass (called ReadiGrass) now, to help us through the winter months, but I really hope the weather gets better and we can go outside soon. But the next week or two is going to be cold. Freezing. Frosty, and maybe some snow.

So what did we get for Christmas? Mummy tried to take photos of us with our presents, but they didn’t come out well.

Victor got a lovely new tartan tunnel. He loves it. I think we were all a bit jealous, but mine’s only a year old and Ludo’s is two, and they are both really nice too. Pippin’s is older; it’s one Roscoe and Neville had, but he likes it, and that’s what matters.

The rest of us got things to eat. Pippin and I both got the nice boxes filled with herby hay. He’s spent most of the time since chewing the box itself. I think he’s finished the herby hay, more or less. I like to nibble my herby hay now and then, and keep the box looking lovely. Mummy says I can eat it, like Pippin and Victor do, but I just like it as it is.

Victor also got the remains of Pippin’s last box. There’s not much left of it now. He just loves chewing boxes, especially tasty ones with grass stuck on it. He made some interesting new entrances to the boxes on the floor during our floor time. Mummy said one of them looked like the entrance to an Indian Rajah’s palace. She tried to take a photo of it, but that didn’t come out well either. She says Victor might be the new Engineer, which is odd, as he looks very like George at times (she says, I never met him).

Ludo got a small tasty treat, which was a baked edible pot with apples and fruit and herbs inside it. He ate the herbs, but left the apple, and although Mummy left the pot in his cage for him, he ignores it. I think it will probably end up in Victor’s cage soon. I give it about two hours before Victor demolishes it! Ludo still has his box from last year. Mummy stuffs readigrass and special hay in it every now and then, and he likes eating from it, but doesn’t eat the box itself, unlike Victor and Pippin. Maybe he never had things to chew in his other house, so he never taught me to chew things.

So that’s what we got. Mummy got a bright red cushion with guinea pigs on it from Auntie Linda, and some washing cloths and socks from Auntie Dawn. She’s very grateful to them for thinking of her.

So that’s our Christmas, and we’ve settled down for the new year, and I’ll tell you if we get any snow next week.

Love

Locksley xx
