Hello, Locksley here! We have exciting news for you today.
First, Mummy is much better. She took all her meds, and now has a little tummy upset, which will soon be fine. She said to tell you that, and you’d understand. She still coughs sometimes, mostly in the morning when she’s doing her deep breathing exercises. They help to clear her lungs and makes them strong again.
I think I should do deep breathing exercises, too. I have a little cough every now and then, but the vet checked my chest and said it was okay. And ta-daaa, the next exciting news…
Victor and I couldn’t go to see Dr Charlotte last week, because Mummy couldn’t drive that far. That got her thinking about moving to a closer vet, now Dr Rebekah isn’t there. So she had a good look around… and spoke to our old vets, and found Dr Rebekah is now in Salisbury. That’s not much closer, but Mummy knows it better, and, we can go by train if Mummy can’t drive! It’s only two stops from our little station. And Mummy found a small soft carrier with a shoulder strap so she can carry us more easily on the train. So…today Ludo is going to see Dr Rebekah in Salisbury!

Ludo has not been well. He’s not been eating much, and has lost weight. He told me his mouth hurt, and his tummy hurt, but when Mummy cut some grass for us on Thursday (it’s been too wet to go out), he finished it all very quickly. So he got twice as much the next day, which made the rest of us jealous, but we were eating our veggies and he wasn’t. Actually, nobody else finishes all their veggies. Pippin leaves his red pepper and his chicory, which I love. I get lots of extras that the others leave. Pippin eats at least twice as much hay as anyone else.
Anyway, Mummy cracked open the Readigrass on Friday night, so we’ve all had some of that, and Ludo has had several helpings. He’s stopped losing weight, but now Dr Rebekah can give him a check up and find out why. And then she’ll make another appointment for Victor and me. Actually, Victor has got over his latest grumpy phase, even before the Readigrass turned up. I think the new hay helped. And we need a new Metacam prescription.
Mummy went out to a party yesterday, and came home tired but happy. She only drove halfway, and went the rest with her friends. She says she has to get out more. I don’t know why, she seems to be doing something every weekend till November. But yes, I suppose she hasn’t done much over the summer except her book fairs. But then, she likes spending time in the garden with us, and we like that too.
So that’s this week’s news. We hope Auntie Noelle had a nice time in Scotland, and everyone else is well and happy too.
love

Glad your mum found something Ludo likes to eat. I hope he feels better soon.

I love posts with good news Locksley! We had a wonderful time in Scotland although our tour leader was a mountain goat and left us in the dust some of the time. We have lots of pictures! But we also brought back the new variant of Covid that was running around Scotland, so we are now sick and in bed. I guess that’s the price for being out and around. I hope Ludo continues to put on weight!

Ludo is back from seeing Dr Rebekah and says she has a new blue coat. She thinks his problems are just age and a bit of tummy trouble, and Mummy will keep doing what she’s doing with him (like giving him my Emeraid). But I’m going to see her on Friday, which is exciting!
