Hello, Ludo here to welcome you to September.
It seems to be the start of autumn. We’re still going out in the garden, and it was still hot and sunny when we went out yesterday, but it grew cloudy, and there was a tiny bit of rain, but not enough to make anything wet. It gets cool quickly, though, and we come in before six and it’s dark at eight. It wasn’t long ago we would go out at six because it was too hot for that earlier.
I’ve been having fun chatting to Pippin when we’re out. He has the covered run still, and we have runs that surround it on three sides. So we can all talk to him, but he and Victor bicker the whole time. It’s a shame, because they look good together, but they fell out for all the normal reasons, and it doesn’t look like they’ll ever make up. Locksley and I have sort of made up, and we quite enjoy sitting next to each other for company, so long as there’s a run panel to mark our patches!

It’s much the same with me and Pippin. I’ve always enjoyed watching his antics; he used to be very funny. This summer, now he’s two, he’s a bit more inclined to talk rather than just argue. He doesn’t talk much sense, but then he’s not got much experience, so I sit next to him and give him my views on life. Sometimes he even listens.
Now that September is here I expect the days of our going out are numbered. Mummy will only put us out if it’s warm enough for her to sit with us, although I think she likes it a bit warmer than we do. But then she hasn’t got a nice fur coat to keep her warm. She could sit outside with her woolly shirt on, though. We need her to sit with us because we’ve had neighbourhood animals visiting the garden, coming up from the bottom of the hill. Sometimes it’s the two lady dogs from next door. They’re not that much bigger than us but they’ve got dangerous looking teeth. Then there are some cats, especially a fat grey fluffy one, who creep up silently. Mummy knows they’re about when the squirrel makes an angry noise from his tree. And sometimes she sees them from her room, and rushes out to chase them away, even when we’re safe indoors.
So, anyway, we must make the best of good weather during September while it lasts. I think Mummy will move us onto fresh grass again today, after her gardening men have been. They want to cut our grass, but I think now they understand that we do it ourselves. Just not the bit down the bottom. They’ve done that, and cleared the garden where the bluebells are so they can come up in spring.
Spring! We’ve got autumn and winter to get through first. I’ll be six then. Sometimes I wonder if Locksley and Victor will make it through to spring. They seem to have far more meds than me. And need special food. Kids today, eh?
Till next time
love

Hi Ludo thanks for all the news! I am glad everyone is well…and Mummy too it’s a good job she has gardening men in , gardening can be heavy work!!
I am impressed that you have a squirrel alarm for the cats …cats are sneaky things …on like dogs at least with them what you see is what you get!!! Cats you can never be sure .
take care and enjoy September….tell those boys to stop bickering 💜💜
