It’s definitely summer

Greetings. Ludo here. It’s the first of July and it’s definitely summer. Although strangely, we’ve just gone past midsummer day, yet summer is here for all of July and most of August.

But the main thing is, we have summer weather. I’m not sure how long it will last, but we’ll make the most of it while we can. We’ve been out on the garden most days, and one day last week it was too hot for us to go out until early evening. Mummy threatened to put the white blowing post on, but it didn’t get to that.

I was hoping we’d get a new patch of grass on Saturday, but Mummy was out all day, and had sore hands, so she didn’t move our runs. I thought she might do it yesterday but she was out all day again. Apparently she sold lots of books on Saturday, and went back to try again on Sunday. Maybe she’ll move our runs onto fresh grass today. And it is fresh: it had the water spray on it a couple of times last week, because Mummy and her gardening man fixed it. The spray, that is.

We haven’t done anything new or unusual since I last reported in. We had a new set of panels for the runs, which Locksley enjoyed. It meant each of us, me, Victor and Locksley, all got a decent sized run on the grass. Pippin has the big enclosed one.

And the awning has been lovely and shady. We’re glad we have that, especially in the early morning when the sun comes straight in at us.

I hope your summer is going well,

love

Ludo
