My hair looks great!

Hello, Locksley here.

Apologies for using the same photo this week, but Mummy took it to show off my lovely hair, and then we realised it showed the new fleece as well. I like the new fleece, but this week I’m on the blue check one, which is also nice, just a bit thinner. It doesn’t get the hay stuck in it so much as the thick one. Mummy washed the new ones and was worried about how much hay was stuck to them, even after being out in the rain and brushed as well. But apparently they are okay now they’re washed and hanging up to dry.

Victor had a new hay box in his run yesterday. He’s very good at destroying his boxes, and Mummy searched everywhere for another small sided one, but could only find one about the same height as him. She says he ought to be able to jump in and out of it okay, and if not, then he can chew an entrance for himself. But she knows he jumped into it soon after he saw it, because he squashed all the hay down!

So, back to me. Mummy’s been brushing my hair every day since I did the ‘hair’s a mess‘ post. it was hard at first, putting up with having it brushed the wrong way, and extra attention on the matted bits. After a few days Mummy trimmed some of the chunks underneath at the back where the matting was still bad, and it sort of hurt to have so much brushing on them. Not really hurt, I just felt uncomfortable about it. Now the only bits underneath at the back are what we think Auntie Dawn calls ‘crusticles’. But on top it looks and feels lovely! Very smooth and shiny, and not clumping together at all.

As for my weight, it went up a little this week. This may be because I had a nice big carrot every day (the others had small ones). But also, Mummy started giving me some extra food from a tube in the morning. She said the last person to have it was Biggles. He started a new bag of the powder not long before our Dorset holiday and Mummy says it is out of date, but that mainly affects the vitamin c content, and I get plenty of vitamin c from my fresh food. Mummy measures the powder into a small cup and then mixes in warm water. She says it’s like a custard consistency. I have no idea what that means.

I tell you, this is delicious! I love it! I’ve been having two or three tubesful, and Mummy says she’s going to look out a five mil tube for me so she doesn’t have to keep filling the purple one up. She also asked my where I look when I’m drinking it.

I said I look up at the ceiling, and let my lips do the sucking on the tube. She smiled, and said I’m the only one she’s seen do that. Nearly everyone else looks at the tube and goes sort of cross-eyed. Ludo and Victor both do that with their meds, look at the tube. I don’t, I just lick that one. I don’t know why I don’t look at the tube. I know where it is, it’s on my lips, after all.

Have a nice week, and see you next Monday 🙂

love

  1. What great news, Locksley. You are putting on weight and your fur looks magnificent. You share much with Garfield, I have to brush him and cut out mats regularly. He loves the brushing but is not happy when I use the scissors to get the mats.
