Hello, Locksley here.
You remember i told you last week that our awning was coming? Well, it came.
It was pretty dull all day, but the people still put it up and made it work for us. Mummy put us in our boxes in the front room while they were drilling our wall. It didnt take them long, but six drillings, repeated a little while later, was quite enough for us. It would have been horrid if we’d stayed in our runs. The drilling is to hold the awning’s house up. You can’t see the awning when it’s inside.
Mummy says it looks a bit space-age. It is, too, because she has a button to press and make it come out or go in, or even stop partway. On Tuesday and Wednesday it was sunny first thing, so she put it out just halfway, so it stopped the sun shining too brightly in our room, but we still had some warm sun to sit in by the window.

It’s not exactly hot at present. It rains off and on. Sometimes just drizzle, sometime it rains a lot. Saturday it rained heavily while Mummy was getting ready to go out to her craft fair, where she sells her books. It was a new place so she was leaving early. As soon as she got in the car the sun started shining. So it came in our room and we didn’t put the awning out, but it was fine as it didn’t get that hot.
She’s hoping that the weather will be better in August, and especially on Saturday this week, when Auntie Dani gets married. Mummy will be out all day for that, too. I expect she’ll enjoy it. She’ll probably do what she did when she got home from the craft fair – gave us some food and then went and lay down for an hour. We can cope with that. She gives us plenty of attention the rest of the time.
We all wish Auntie Dani and our new uncle, Sam, a very happy life together.
Ludo will be here next week to tell you all his news.
love

Your new awning is a winner! We have been so hot here, it is out all the time. Even in the rain, if there’s not a lot of wind, so we can sit outside. If there’s a lot of wind, a wind sensor thingy will automatically roll it in. I’m glad you are not suffering with the heat anymore! And the awning looks smashing!
