It’s been Sunny all week!

Hi! Pippin the Optimistic here. Did you enjoy Ronnie and Reggie’s post last week? I thought they did jolly well.

This week we’ve mostly been looking longingly at the sky outside. It’s been lovely and blue, except when it’s dark, of course, and then the stars have been out. Mummy says it wasn’t nice enough outside most of the time for us to go out, because when the sun was on the garss it was still wet from the dew, and once the sun had dried it, the grass went into shade, so felt cool again.

She was right. We went out for a few minutes each (fifteen to twenty Mummy says), and that was enough. The grass was yummy, but somehow it was even yummier when Mummy cut a pile of it for each of us and we could eat it in the warmth of our cages. We don’t need particularly warm cages, but it’s nice not to get cold feet or wet tummies. Yesterday, though, we went out in a run in the sun. It was just dry enough, although Reggie stayed in his tunnel the whole time. Ronnie came out and about, and I went most of the way round my run that Mummy put out for me. She’s left the run panels out, but she thinks it will be cooler and less sunny tomorrow.

Another thing that happened this week is that I lost weight. Mummy’s taking me to the vet tomorrow. She says I haven’t had a check-up for ages, and she’s been thinking I look a bit peaky, so losing weight makes it official: I need to see the vet! I don’t mind. I like Dr Rebekah. But because Ronnie has lost weight again, even though he had his teeth done and put on weight after, she’s started giving him the tubejuice that everyone who’s gone before liked very much. Ronnie didn’t like it to start with, but the second day he was really eager to eat it. And yesterday I got it too, to stop me losing any more weight. We may just be pining for spring, Mummy says. Or it may mean I’m officially an Older Pig. She still thinks of the me as the youngster I used to be.

Mummy had to go to the hospital doctor last week. She came home with a big white patch over her eye. She said she had a little lump on her eyelid and they’ve taken it away, and it’s nothing to worry about. She lost the patch before bedtime, so I expect she’s right.

So that’s all our news. Except we’ve suddenly realised it’s nearly the end of the month, and we’re blogging from A to Z from next week’s Wednesday. And we’re nowhere near ready. I think we’ve only got as far as E. We’ve got to do better than that or Mummy will keep us in and we’ll miss our lovely runs on the grass!

I’ll update you on progress next week.

love
