Hello, Locksley here. I suppose the heading says it all really.
Mummy came back from her two day craft fair very tired, and went to bed early. In the morning she sounded very funny, and said she had a very sore throat. Apparently it’s not called tracheitis in humans, but anyway it leads to coughs and sneezes and lots of nose-blowing and disgusting sounds, which have been going on for the whole week. We know it was bad because Mummy was using Vicks on her nose, just like she does with me when I’m all snuffly. She also cancelled her craft fair last Saturday, and the event she was going to next Sunday.
She was still coughing a lot yesterday morning, but later on things seemed to improve, so maybe she’ll be better today.
We still get all the regular things when Mummy’s ill. Beds got changed, fleeces got washed. We got our meds (some days only just before midday) and our cuddles. Ludo is off his cucumber. He’s off quite a lot of his salad leaves too, but nobody knows why. Mummy weighs him daily and says he’s settled a bit now. He’s started taking my Emeraid, and eats it enthusiastically. I’m not sure I approve, but Mummy got a new bag of it before this one ran out, so I shouldn’t complain.

It’s probably good that the weather is right for autumn, as we couldn’t have gone out anyway. Mummy did go out on one sunny day to cut us small piles of grass. They were nice. Ludo ate his, although he’d left his breakfast. On Friday, Mummy started going out for a few minutes to walk around the streets. I don’t think she went very far, but it’s supposed to be a start. I suppose it’s like us being out for floor time. At first the floor is huge, and you want to hide in a corner. Then you start exploring, and eventually you like it so much you don’t want to come in.
Talking of hiding, Ludo did something strange yesterday. More strange than usual. He didn’t come into his tent to go back in his run when Mummy put it down for him. As Victor was already on his way from the cuddle room I got in mine quick. Then Mummy had to do something, and when she came back Ludo was hiding in the corner under the curtain, with his bottom showing. That’s not normal, even for Ludo. Mummy thinks hiding head first in corners is a bad sign. I thought about that, and realised that when Biggles died he was hiding head first in a corner. Roscoe and Neville didn’t do that. But I think it’s another sign that even though Dr Rebekah couldn’t find anything, there’s something wrong. He’ll be six years old next birthday, so it may just be his age.
I hope Mummy stops coughing soon, and that you’re all well again. Mummy says she did a test and it wasn’t Covid. Just a cold. Get well soon everybody.
love

I’m sorry to hear about Ludo, and hope it’s only temporary. And good news that your Mum does not have Covid. We just got over it, although it was milder than the last time we had it. I think she needs to get outside for fresh air and exercise but she also needs to rest and sleep. I hope the rest of you are all good.

Cats can do that too. My Puma did that before she passed. I’ve been warned to watch for that because it could mean brain issues.
